Does anyone have any good make-up tips?

I'm an african american fourteen year old girl and I've been wearing make-up since sixth grade. Now bear with me, my skin is crispy dark like those wannabe-white black girls who try to tan. :/ Anyways i recently just got a small make up kit with Lilac, Silver, Dark Gray, Lavender and Plum inside. Its also has highlighter and gel liner. Now see here's the thingg there only one make-up tip inside of it. I tried it on for the first time to day, and it looks good, but i want to know more. I also have mascara (but its kinda sucks, just a little). Please tell me what can i do to make myself look bettetr. Since I'm young I'm not allowed to wear concealer or blush yet. I'm heading to high school in a August and I want to start my freshmen year off by looking pretty, and looking cool. (Yes, Apparently my parents didn't have good sex, because my face sucks :I)
