How to get deadbeat dad to get a job?

Plain and simple, you can't. As unfair as it is, it is what it is. I hope you already have a child support order. That way he is at least on the books for arrears when and if he ever does get a job. I wouldn't encourage the children to write letters to someone who blatantly ignores them and his responsibilities to them. As far as Child Support Dept., not much will be done there, they are over burdened will the same kind of case as yours. (and mine) Contempt of Court? That means nothing to them. My ex is called into court every other month and charged with contempt of court. The only way he pays anything is when he is told to pay a small amount or go to jail. My only advise to you is just do the best you can, stay strong and the kids will know who was there for them. Good luck
