When your mom doesn't want you to wear the hijab?

Marriage is the way of Islam and any pious Muslim man would want his wife to wear hijab. You would never want a Muslim husband who did not support you to wear it, he would be weak in his Iman (faith). And a man weak in his Iman will cause you all sorts of troubles. Best to stick to Islam and adhere to all that is required and hijab is indeed fard. I am sure if you join your Muslim Student Association(MSA) you will find like minded sisters, perhaps at some point you could share a room with one one or two and this will help you to feel some unity. Sometimes when you are unsure like you are, you fear others more than you care to please Allah (swt) and if you think about it you haven't fallen far from the tree. Perhaps you will be a role model for your mother. She should have been the one to congratulate you on wearing it but since she is misguided, you can be the one to bring her back to the straight path. Be tough and strong. Maybe it will feel like it takes guts, but after awhile you will be used to it. And when a test befalls you, you will be confident that Allah (swt) will answer your prayers because you are trying your darn best to be a good Muslimah.
